HOW FAR IS IT?
Measure the direct distance from two
points anywhere around the world.
This service (courtesy of Bali
Online) uses data from the US Census and a supplementary list of cities around the
world to find the latitude and longitude of two places, and then calculates the true
distance (both statute and nautical miles and kilometers) and heading between them (as the
plane flies), and provides details on the two locations, including elevation. It also
provides a map showing the two locations, using the Xerox PARC Map Server, and driving directions,
using MapQuest.
